Monarch RTB-X Offers Tilting 50" Table
Monarch Machine Tool Company, Cortland, NY, announces the development of the RTB
vertical machining center, an X-axis model of their rotary table VMC series. Monarch RTB's
are large-diameter (50" - 96") rotary tables mounted to traveling-column
vertical machining centers, and are typically used to machine large cylinders and other
circular or offset parts.
The Monarch RTB-X features a 50" rotary table adapted to a base having up to
40" of X-axis travel which enables the machine to perform X- and Y-axis, as well as
C-axis rotary machining operations typical of RTB machining centers.
The RTB-X features an ANSI #50 V-flange, dual-range spindle with a horsepower rating of
50/30 minutes (37.5 hp continuous). The 6000-rpm spindle (10, 12 & 15,000 optional)
reaches full horsepower at 350 rpm. Machine strokes are 48" (X axis), 48" (Y
axis), 38" (Z axis), and 50" diameter (C axis).
Refrigerated oil pumped through the spindle and gearbox assures a thermal stability to
1 degree ambient. Thirty tool capacity, each to 6" diameter by 16" long, is
standard, with a 40 tool changer available. All tools return to their original pockets for
easy tool management.
Like other Monarch VMCs, the RTB-X boasts a rugged, heavily-ribbed base for years of
reliable, sustained accuracy. Machining accuracies are maintained at +/-.0001"
positioning, and +/-.00006" repeatability through the use of Heidenhain®
glass scales imbedded in and protected by the base. The GE/FANUC 15I serves as the
standard RTB-X CNC control.
Many options are available for the RTB-X allowing customers to customize the machine
for specific applications. |
